Henleaze Old Boys 3 May 2007
Well we made a game of it with the help of the Old Boys who gave us 4 players...
Myself, Jonny Haynes and Matt Grime, and my mate Stu from work (an Old Elizabethians player) representing Laz XI...
Matt led the way with a swashbucklingly, classy 63 not out, out of 87 for 6 in 18 overs.
In reply, Old Boys started well, then suffered as Laz-esque collapse to be around 40 odd for 4. A captain's innings plus regular wickets led them to be 85 for 7 with 2 overs to go. Then the left hander slapped one the ball to mid on, where "The" captain couldn't avoid the catch which he took, but in doing so broke his finger, (I'm out for 6 weeks). With scores level going into the last over, a scampered single off the third ball sealed it for the Old Boys.
Not satisfied with his batting, Matt then took 2 stumpings, and a catch. Jonny bagged 3 wickets. And the other bowlers bowling varying degrees of slowness shared the other wickets.
